The following are all of the volunteer opportunities available at Willow Center.
Work with children, teens and adult support groups at the Willow Center.
A 23 – 26 hour training program is required. The overall goal of the facilitator training is to teach people how to help children, teens and adults to process their feelings of grief. The training is open to all persons. Upon completion, people interested in volunteering will be interviewed and evaluated as to their readiness for facilitating. Volunteers are requested to make a one year commitment to working with their assigned groups.
Work with children and teens, ages 6 – 17 years, at this one weekend bereavement camp designed for children who are grieving the loss of someone close to them. It’s a weekend long experience filled with traditional, fun, camp activities combined with grief education and emotional support. There are many areas for you to volunteer; be a “Cabin Big Buddy”, do arts and crafts, cook/meal preparation, recreation, set-up or help clean-up the camp! Click here to see more.
The Willow Center Board of Directors are members of the community with commitment, talents, and skills that contribute to the success and mission of the organization. This is a rewarding opportunity to assist in the leadership of a valuable organization that cares for children and their families that are grieving the death of a loved one. Terms of office are three (3) years. Meetings of the full Board of Directors are monthly with committee work required. The membership of the board is a maximum of fifteen (15) members. If you are interested or want to know more please contact the Executive Director or contact any board member.
If you have organizing skills, or enjoy entering data, making copies, and helping “around the office”, this is a wonderful opportunity. Whether you have only one hour a week to give, we could use your help. Please contact the Executive Director to offer your assistance.
We are always looking for people to assist us in a variety of ways with all of our projects and operations! If you have a particular interest, skill or talent you’d like to share – give us a call!
